The Jesuits of Haiti have the Novitiate in the city of Ounaminthe, located in the north of the country. A border city, with a lot of commercial activity and great mobility of people. From there Father Stanley Charles and his assistant, Reginald Milorne, accompany the formation of future Jesuit Priests. Currently, the group that is in formation, as in the best Ignatian pedagogical tradition, is in the “experience” stages.
The first years, after having finished the month of Spiritual Exercises, have begun their month of Hospital experience. It is an ancient practice of accompanying people in vulnerable situations, especially in hospitals and nursing homes.
While those in the second year will collaborate in different apostolic experiences, such as teaching, at the San Ignacio de Bedou School or in the Jesuit Migrant Service.
They are the first steps in the long formation of preparation for the Priesthood in the Society of Jesus.
