Fr François Kawas has died suddenly of a vascular accident.

Father Kawas was born in 1954 and was ordained a priest in 1981.

After his theology studies, he received a doctorate in sociology.

In Haiti, he had numerous responsibilities in the academic and government spheres in the Haitian Jesuit Territory.

As part of his contributions to the country and to the Company was the creation of the Center for Social Studies, Cerfas.

Lately, along with his academic activities, he was responsible for a housing construction program in the south of the country, which is part of the Jesuit response to the 2021 earthquake.
