The Society of Jesus has announced the appointment of Fr. Jeffrey S. Burwell, SJ, as the new Provincial of the Province of Canada. Father Burwell will assume his new duties as of July 31, 2024.

The new Provincial will succeed Fr. Erik Oland, SJ.

It is important to note that the Jesuit Territory of Haiti is an integral part of the Province of Canada.

The Jesuit community in Haiti welcomes this new appointment with joy.
