AUGUST: A MONTH OF JOY FOR THE JESUIT COMMUNITY IN HAITI

The month of August brought a breath of hope to the Jesuit community in Haiti amidst the challenges our country faces. On August 10th, the chapel of Saint Louis de Gonzaga College in Port-au-Prince witnessed the priestly ordination of two new companions in the mission: Ketler Lysius and Maréus Tousséliat.

This celebration marked a moment of deep gratitude and renewed commitment to the service of God and the Haitian people.

Meanwhile, at the parish of d’Osmond in Wanament, three novices completed their formation period by professing their first vows. Accompanied by their fellow Jesuits and the local Christian community, these young men took a significant step on their path of total dedication to the Lord.

Amidst the many difficulties faced by the Haitian people, to which the Society of Jesus is not immune, these events are a breath of fresh air and a sign of hope for the future. Currently, the Jesuit community in Haiti counts 28 priests among its 66 members, a number that continues to grow and strengthen its mission in the country.
